About Me
I was born in China and raised in the United States. My dream is to travel around the world. I'm a mother, a student and a wife. I have two children, one is in eighth grade and the other is in third grade. Therefore it is very important for me to be a great example for them. As a college student, I am a first generation college student who is studying nursing. My goal in life is to finish college with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and continue my career in the health care industry. In addition, I would like to own a home on the beach in Key West Florida. I am a proud Army wife to an active duty military, who is very dedicated to his country and his family. I enjoy doing things with my family, such as cookouts, family fun parks and traveling with my family. I also like to study, go jogging, and cooking for my family. Most of my time is spent in school and doing things for my family, although it’s a challenge to juggle the three responsibilities effectively. I feel rewarded being able to do things for my family.
This semester at UTEP was another exciting learning period for me. One of my classes is RWS 1301; it is a writing intensive course, which allowed me to learn many different aspects of the writing process. We had many varieties of different research and writing assignments that were time consuming, but yet rewarding at the same time. Some of the assignments included the Discourse Community and Map, Community Problem Report, Rhetorical Analysis and my favorite was the Visual Argument. We also learned how to identified ethos, logos and pathos in our readings, as well as applying to our writings process. While a few of my own drafts did have some significant revision do to the reason that I was a little indecisive on some word choices. However majority of the assignment did not required any reversion. In addition, our final assignment was the e-Portfolio, which included creating my personal website. This allowed me to stretch my imagination and organizing my assignments as well as implementing all the skills and knowledge I have learned throughout this semester especially in RWS 1301. As a result of this class, I know I am a better writer and I am confident that I meet most of my assignment criteria, because majority of my grades were above 90% or better. To support my argument, my assignments that are available throughout this portfolio and they are the best evidence to show my work.
